As stated on the Assignment 1 front page you are now working as a consultant systems analyst. You are required to perform requirements scoping and process modeling for the new Child Health Information System (CHIS).
To do this you are required to complete the following two documents.
- Business Requirements Scoping
There are three main requirements in this document
- Fact finding
Use the who, what, where, when, how and why questions
from page 105 of the textbook to develop a detailed understanding
of the current system.
- Identify deficiencies
Use the five general categories of requirements identified in the textbook (pp 101-103) to identify at least one problem or deficiency (for each category) with the current system that should be improved in the new system.
- Identify requirements
Use the same five general categories of requirements to identify all of the requirements that should be built into the new system.
- Process Models
There are two main requirements in this document
- Process modelling
You must produce a context data flow
diagram and a Diagram 0 DFD (pp 148-166 of the textbook) for the proposed new CHIS.
- Data Dictionary Entries
You must develop two Data Dictionary entries (pp 167-173 of the textbook). Choose any two processes from your Diagram 0 DFD and create Data Dictionary entries for them.
These are the two document templates that ITD use: Business Requirements Scoping; and Process Models. You must use the Microsoft Word templates and follow the directions included in the document.
You need to put your name and other details into the required fields of the template. Insert your own answers (in black font) into the template where the red font is currently shown. Please ensure that you delete the material in the red font. It is included in the template to assist you to understand what is required in each section. It should NOT form part of your asssignment when you submit it.
